Early Beginnings and Education
Born in the United States and raised in the U.S., Bahamas, and United Kingdom, Martina's multicultural upbringing fueled her passion for service and justice from a young age. She earned her Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law, where she concentrated in International and Environmental Law and served as President of the Black Law Students Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Baltimore, Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts, where she served in student government as a Senator.

Martina’s career began in nonprofit legal services, where she worked extensively in environmental justice before transitioning to guardianship legal services and estate planning. Over the years, she has developed deep expertise in wills, trusts, estate administration, probate litigation, guardianship, and estate planning services. Her experience includes both trial and appellate advocacy, and she is also a respected legal educator, advisor, and consultant.
Martina is a member of both the Texas and Louisiana State Bars, as well as a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law (REPTL) Section of the State Bar of Texas and the American Inns of Court – Texas Probate Division. She is proud of her longstanding connection to community-based organizations and continues to support initiatives that serve families across Texas.
Community and Personal Life
Beyond the courtroom, Martina is deeply committed to causes that promote access to justice, environmental advocacy, and mentorship of minority attorneys. She has served as a youth soccer coach for nearly a decade and enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring independent cinema. Martina lives in Texas with her spouse and child and remains an active part of the local community both personally and professionally.
